Dear Friends of the Academy,

Our community of practice continues to grow, and with it comes the need for a structure that can truly value each person’s journey — whether they are seeking professional specialization or simply wish to deepen their passion for Italic identity. In this issue, we present the new organization of the community into five thematic macro-groups, give voice to two protagonists of our first cycle through two interviews, and announce the opening of Module 3 in Italian and the launch of our training pathways in Portuguese — the first step in a plan that will bring the Academy to all the languages of the Italic world.

COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE: FIVE THEMATIC MACRO-GROUPS

As our community has grown, we felt the need to organize its members not only by language, but also according to their areas of interest. This has led to the creation of five thematic macro-groups, designed to foster synergies, shared projects and tailored paths for growth — whether as part of a professional journey or a personal interest cultivated with passion:

Travel — designing and experiencing Italic identity tourism
Italian Language & Culture — learning, teaching and promoting Italian language and culture around the world
Territories & Communities — connections with Italian territories, local communities and the diaspora
W&E (Weddings & Events) — weddings, events and ceremonies centred on Italic identity
Genealogy — genealogical and heraldic research based on the FAIG scientific method

Every Academy member therefore belongs to two dimensions of the community: their language area (Italian, Portuguese and soon other languages) and their thematic macro-group.

This two-level structure makes it possible to work side by side both with people who share the same language and with those who share the same passion or professional field — even when they are thousands of kilometres apart.

VOICES FROM THE COMMUNITY: TWO INTERVIEWS

In this issue, we bring together two complementary perspectives on the Academy.

Stefano Clima, General Director of Mercurio Misura — the Academy’s technical-administrative partner and an expert in Italicity — tells us how the perspective on Italic identity tourism is changing, about the organizational challenge of a project that already speaks five languages across 11 countries, and gives us a first glimpse into the new Scientific Technical Committee.

Barbara Barella, one of the first participants in the Foundations cycle and active in the Territories & Communities macro-group, shares her direct experience: the workshop-based nature of the programme, the value of an international community of practice, and how the Rooting Method® translates into concrete action in her everyday work with territories.

FIRST SEEDS: MODULE 3 AND INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION

The Italian-language training pathway continues with Module 3 (Application), from 6 to 9 October, dedicated to those who want to turn the Rooting Method® into concrete projects — tourism professionals, entrepreneurs, and also people involved in different ways in their territories of origin.

But the most significant news in this issue is something else: the Academy is officially launching its training pathways in additional languages, beginning with Portuguese.

Module 1 will take place from 27 to 30 October, followed by Module 2 from 3 to 6 November.

This is the first concrete step towards a truly multilingual model, capable of responding to the specific needs of the different linguistic areas within the global Italic community — beginning with Brazil, a country home to one of the world’s largest communities of Italian origin, made up both of sector professionals and people who experience their connection with Italy with passion and emotion.
